Cora Helms 100 Baby Challenge Ch. 19

Cora Helms

100 Baby Challenge

Chapter 19

The next day, Brie Anna had a very bad night’s sleep. She couldn’t hardly sleep for some reason.  She would try, but kept waking up.

After she ate breakfast, she wondered into the living room and fell asleep on the sofa.

Cora woke her up to send her to school.

While Cora went into the nursery to take care of Crista and Caleb. She finished teaching Crista to talk.

However, Brie Anna didn’t go to school. She walked into the kitchen, and then fell asleep on the floor, while Cora was still taking care of the toddlers.

Cora started teaching Caleb to talk.

She wanted to call Jared and invite him over, but she just had to much stuff to do this morning.

Which also included calling a repair man, and mopping up the mess in the bathroom.

Cora did end up getting on to Brie Anna for missing school, but she knew she didn’t get a good nights sleep last night, and sent her to bed early tonight to catch up on all her sleep.

Finally, Cora got all the kids to bed and put the toddlers down last.

She had wanted so much to have Jared to come over, but today was not a good day. She wanted to teach the twins at least how to talk before the day ended.  She had taught Crista, but tomorrow she would have to finish up with Caleb.

She sigh, tomorrow was going to be a long day, too.

The next day.

The next day, Brie Anna was in a much better mood. She was well rested, however, her sister and her needed baths.

Arye wanted to cook breakfast.

And did a good job. They were great.

Finally, the kids went to school and Cora went to work on teaching the toddlers to talk. She had taught Crista to talk, but now how to work on Caleb.
Again, she wanted to invite Jared over, but she needed to get the toddlers skills down, before she got pregnant again. This way, she wouldn’t have to worry about them aging up bad.

Arye came home from school and was excited about the prom tonight. He couldn’t wait. His first dance. True he didn’t have a date, but he still wanted to go and have a great time.

He got dressed in his tuxedo and thought he look good. Cora also told him that he looked very nice. She was very proud of him. Her first born child was growing up. She wanted to cry.

Arye did go upstairs and start his homework. He knew the prom would get out late and he wanted to get his homework done before the prom started. He didn’t want to do it in study hall tomorrow.

Cora took this time to call Jared and talk to him. She couldn’t invite him over, not with Arye having his prom tonight, but she could talk to Jared and become a better friend.

Finally, it was time for prom, and Arye ran up the hill to the road. He wished sometimes they didn’t live so far away from the main road.

However, when he finally got to the main road the limo was gone. His friends must have thought that he wasn’t coming.

He couldn’t believe he missed the limo. He was mad, but decided no matter what he wanted to have a good time.

He called a cab and finally arrive to the prom almost an hour late.

It didn’t matter, he still had a good time.

Finally, the prom was over and he was very tired. It was late and he couldn’t wait to get home. He walked out with the other kids. He was surprise at how many didn’t dress up and the fact that there were only a few teens in town besides him.

He knew from his small class rooms, that there wasn’t that many children in Sunset Valley, but it didn’t hit him till tonight how few teens there were.

It made him realize as he called a cab, why the town had asked Cora for this challenge. He wondered also, if they would ask any other woman to do this challenge. If there were two women in the town both doing a 100 Baby Challenge, then could the children not related to each other, get together and start having babies. It would definitely give the town a more fighting chance at survival, and not fade away into nothing. It was something for Arye to think about.

However, when he got home instead of telling his mother of his theory, he was dead tired, but he wanted to talk to his mom about his prom and how great it went.

He got home and helped his mom with the toddlers and getting them to sleep.

Cora thought he was being a wonderful child, but the truth was Arye knew once the toddlers were down, then Cora could give him her full attention.

He then started telling her all about his prom and how much fun he had and how he got to dance with one of the prettiest girls in school.

Cora was so happy for him. For once, he wasn’t being a grumpy teen.

He had a good time and was all excited about the night’s events.

He finally told his mom goodnight and headed for bed.

Arye had an amazing night at the prom.
