My New Legacy - Helms-Lear - Gen 1 - Chapter Three

My New Legacy

Alayna's Story
Generation One

Chapter Three

Lessons

The next day, Alayna woke up that afternoon.

She woke up with a terrible hunger and realized she didn't have any chairs, or a couch to set on.  She actually sat on the toilet to eat her food!  She was disgusted with her life.

"It's so gross.  It's not fair!" she screamed, and quickly realize that she was in the open and the neighbors could see and hear her.

Once again, Alayna wanted to cry.  How could her parents do this to her?  They left her out in the open for all to see and to take care of herself.  It just wasn't fair!

She washed her bowl, then looked at the easel.  Her parents had it dropped off last night to her leaving a note saying this could help her with a career since she liked to paint anyway.

She finally decided why not and started painting.

It actually turn out to be fun and relaxing.  She enjoyed it so much she ended up painting the day away.

Soon she realize she had painted the whole day and it was getting late.  She wanted Christopher to come over to get to know him better, and called him up and invited him over.

He came over quite quickly, and they began to hang out.  She learned many things about Christopher, and that he even wanted children.  Which was good since Alayna's parents wanted her to give them grandkids or they would disown her.

However, Alayna wasn't sure about kids just yet.  After all, she was still young, but she did eventually want a kid or two.  However, only when she had enough money to hire a nanny to change the diapers, feed, and bathe the kids.  Alayna would only get the good parts of the kids like cooing, and hugs, and kisses.  The crying and icky could go to the nanny.

Eventually, they became hungry during their talking and Christopher, being the guest, waited patiently for Alayna to fix dinner.

Alayna finally got the hint and looked inside her fridge.  She had never cooked before in her life.  She saw things to make salad and decided that had to be simple enough to make and started preparing.

However, when she was preparing the food, she noticed Christopher soon took out his cell phone and called up his buddy.

Alayna found this a little rude, but ignored it.

Alayna was embarrass to tell Christopher that she had no where to sit and that they had to eat their food either standing up or sitting on the toilet.  Christopher stood, while Alayna sat.  She was so embarrass and once again found herself cursing her parents for putting her in this situation.

Christopher finished before she did, and once again he was calling up a friend.  She wondered if he was telling his friends about his date and how awful she was.  That she lived out in the open, not even a shack, and she ate while sitting on the toilet.

Alayna felt like crying.

However, when she finally did come around to face him again, he smiled at her.  A very friendly, happy smile and Alayna thought for just a moment that maybe he really did like her and wasn't talking bad about her.

She out of nowhere asked if he would like to pillow fight and to her joyous surprise he said yes.

So, they pillow fighted.

And had a great time.  For the first time in two days, Alayna was actually having fun.

Until her phone rang.  'Seriously', she thought as she excused herself to answer it.

It was her mother.   She keep it brief and more less told her mother that if she cared so much about her that she would come and get her.

Her mother simple said, "No dear, you have life lessons to learn on your own.  Good luck, hun, I love you", then her mother hung up.

Alayna was shocked.  Again, she hissed under her breathe and tried to be calm as she rounded the corner of her one wall.

Only to find, Christopher making himself comfortable on her bed, reading a book.

She asked him to quit and they talked for a little longer.  It was very late and finally Christopher went home, but not before he told her that he would like a second date with her.

Alayna agreed and told him goodnight.

She finally went to bed.  She felt better about Christopher being with her and thought maybe he was the guy for her.  He was very nice and not so bad looking, ( he needed a make over ), and he was around her age.

Maybe, she could marry him and he could work and take care of her.

Some time during the night, she woke up to see strange, beautiful lights coming from the other side of town.

Out of curiosity, she got up and followed the light to it's source.

It was coming from the woods, and down to it's source.

A unicorn!  It was a beautiful creature and Alayna couldn't believe her eyes.

The unicorn turned to her and said in a pleasant male voice, "You really need to learn how to behave.  Life can be filled with joy if you know how to treat others which in return gives you respect for yourself and everyone and learn how to care.  Being selfish is never the answer."

Alayna about had a heart attack when she heard the unicorn's words.  He just spoke!

"Are you listening?" the magical creature asked, sternly.

Alayna nodded her head yes.  She gulped as she stared wide eyed at the unicorn.

"Good, because life lessons are very important," he said.

"Yes," Alayna agreed, still shocked at seeing such a wonderful, magical creature.

"Good," the unicorn said, then added, "It's getting late, well morning, I have to go.  Remember what I said."

Then with speed that Alayna never knew was possible with horses, the unicorn raced out of the woods and disappeared into many colorful lights.  Away from this world and back into his own.

Alayna shocked and stunned, blinked several times, then found herself falling.  She blacked out.
