My New Legacy - Helms-Lear - Gen 1 - Chapter Nine

My New Legacy

Alayna's Story
Generation One

Chapter Nine

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise

The next few months flew by.   Alayna spent it mostly painting.

And lots of pillow fighting.

Christopher practice his cooking skills, while Alayna watched the kids channel.   She couldn't explain why she was so intent on watching the kids channel.

As her pregnancy progress she was also feeling a strong need to have a big family.   She grew up as an only child, as she became bigger and bigger the desire to have at least two kids grew and maybe even have four kids.

She hadn't said anything to Christopher, yet, but she knew from the few talks they did have he wanted at least two kids.

The months flew by and they spent them gathering fruit and seeds from the park across from their house.

Christopher spent his time fishing in the big lake in the park, working on getting promotions at work, and catering to Alayna.

He worried about her.  She was getting so big and they didn't have insurance.  They couldn't afford to go the the doctor.  In fact, Alayna knowing they didn't have insurance or enough money for doctors or medical bills had already decided to have a home birth.

She spent a lot of time trying not to worry about the baby or the medical bills that they would have once the baby was born.  She planned to have a home birth, but they would soon take the baby after it was born to the doctor.

She decided to plant an apple tree in honor of their first baby.  They had no ideal if it was a boy or a girl, but there should be something great to ring in the new life.  An apple tree seemed like the perfect thing and she hoped that the tree would last her life time, her child's life time, and even beyond to who knows, maybe, even ten generations from now.  She didn't know if that would happen, but that would be awesome if it did.

Most of the time, Christopher would come home to find Alayna painting.

He always asked Alayna to take it easy.  She was very far along in her pregnancy and he didn't want her to over do it.  They couldn't afford to go to the doctor, but once in a great while.  So, he hoped she would just take it easy.

She told him she would and ate watermelon from the plant she harvested in the park a few days back.

She loved watermelon and since her pregnancy that was about all she craved.

She finally sold enough paintings to buy a crib.  She was close to having the baby and was feeling guilty for not having everything they needed for the new baby.

A few days later, she woke up feeling very happy, but also like she was going to burst.

Christopher had to go to work, but Alayna told him she wished he didn't.  She felt like it would be any time now for the baby, but he reminded her he really couldn't take off and that they really needed the money especially with the baby about to arrive.

Alayna understood as she saw him climb into the car pool for work.

She actually wished his co-worker wasn't so pretty, but quickly shook her head of those thoughts.

Christopher loved her and she was just over emotional with her pregnancy.

She looked at her small garden and realized it needed to be tended.

She started off with the apple tree, then moved to the other plants.  She had lettuce and grapes.

Suddenly, she felt a pain, then it eased up.  She didn't give it to much thought and went back to her garden.

However, ten minutes later, she felt her water break, and felt very strong contractions.

She couldn't believe it.  She was in labor.  How could she be in labor now, Christopher wasn't even here.

A wave of pain hit her and she couldn't believe how much it hurt.

She waited for the pain to ease, then tried to move to the house.

Again, another strong terrible pain hit and Alayna had to stop in mid-step.  She hoped she could make it to the house and not have the baby outside in the garden.

The pain ease, and she quickly moved inside.  She realize she wasn't going to be in labor long which was a good thing, but it was extremely painful.

She felt the baby coming and couldn't wait.  Christopher and her had already picked out a boy's name and a girl's name, and she wished he could be here now to witness the birth of their new baby, but he had to work and there was no time to call him home.

Finally, she pushed and pushed and gave birth to a new baby girl.  Alayna was thrilled and named her Brie Anna Helms-Lear.  She was so over joyed to have a girl.  She had been wanting a girl ever since she found out she was pregnant.   Actually, Christopher had wanted a girl too.

Suddenly, she felt more pain and thought oh no something was wrong, but instead she was shocked to realize she was having twins.

She was thrilled to have twins, but the thought of another mouth to feed had her worried.

However, this was a joyous occassion and she didn't want to ruin it by thinking of money right at this second.

Instead, she looked down and named her new daughter, Bethany Marie.

But the joy was cut short when she realize she was in labor once again.

The thought of having triplets down right scared her.  She was having triplets, oh my gosh!  What would her and Christopher do?  They could barely afford one baby, now triplets.

She gave birth to the last girl and named her Brooke Lynne.  She couldn't believe she had triplets.

She wanted to call Christopher so bad, but knew his boss would not let the employees take personal calls during working hours, even though, his boss knew his wife was very pregnant and about ready to give birth any day now.

Alayna was filled with joy at the sight of her new triplet girls, but she also wanted to cry.  She didn't have enough cribs for them all and she couldn't afford any more cribs at the moment.  She wondered how on earth they would be able to feed, cloth, and take care of the girls.

She quickly went to the bathroom to wash away the few tears that rolled down her cheeks and to clean herself up.  She didn't want the babies to see the stress and worry on her face.

She went back into the room and started to take care of the little baby girls.  Each one was so precious and she tried not to think of their money problems as she cared for them.

Boy, was Christopher going to be shocked when he gets home!

This ends Chapter Nine.  I hope you enjoyed.  Thank you for reading.
